In 1980, Christian supporters of Israel established the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem as a tangible expression of believers throughout the world who desired to bless and comfort Zion.
It was in response to the International condemnation of Israel for declaring united Jerusalem the "eternal and indivisible capital" of the re-born Jewish state. |

As 13 nations moved their embassies from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv due to a threatened Arab oil embargo, 1400 Christians from 40 countries decided to open a Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. It was an act of solidarity with the Jewish people's 3000-year-old connection to their holy city.
Today, Christians everywhere have an Embassy representing them in Jerusalem, an effective channel for their concern and love for Israel.
The ICEJ’s headquarters are today housed in a former Embassy building of the Ivory Coast, located in an historical neighbourhood of Jerusalem. Jerusalem residents generally take pride and appreciation in the unique style and history of many of Jerusalem’s buildings and local visitors express delight in the care and maintenance of the grounds and beautiful building. |

The ICEJ represents millions of Christians from over 100 countries who share a love and concern for Israel and the Jewish people and who believe that” the set time to favor Zion has come….” Psalm 102:13
Australia and the Pacific Region: The Australian Branch of ICEJ is part of this international network. The Australian Branch freely distributes teaching materials and information to Pastors in the South Pacific area as well as to several countries in the continent of Africa.
The Branch provides well known speakers who travel at their own expense within Australia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Teaching Seminars on the Hebraic roots of our faith help Christians understand the Jewish context of the scriptures.
ICEJ Australia conducts tours to Israel, particularly one at the time of the Feast of Tabernacles.

A Voice to the Nations
Israel is the target of hostility from many quarters and the Embassy seeks to stand against anti-Israel and anti-Semitic prejudices.

Throughout the year the Embassy sends speakers around the world to explain important issues regarding Israel and the Middle East. The foremost objective is to increase Christian awareness and support of Israel by stimulating leaders, churches and organizations to become effective influences in their countries on behalf of the Israel people.
The Media Department seeks to inform and educate regarding the wider context of the headline that so often give a critical picture of Israel. This is achieved through a variety of electronic and printed means.

Comforting Israel
The mandate at the founding of the ICEJ was from Isaiah 40:1, “Comfort, comfort My people…”
The Embassy’s ICEJ AID Department expresses this commandment is expressed by financially assisting the people of Israel in a variety of projects while establishing warm contacts throughout the Land.

The Home Care Department is also an expression of this by providing basic nursing assistance and care to housebound and disabled new immigrants, along with friendship and emotional support.

A Prophetic Declaration
Every year in Jerusalem the Embassy hosts a Christian celebration during the joyful Feast of Tabernacles. Thousands of believers come up to worship the God of Israel, in anticipation of that future time when God’s promises through the prophet Zechariah, chapter 14, are fulfilled.
